Intercede - NOW!

Happy Son-Day!!! Psalm 139:13-14  You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.   Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!   Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You will always find the "Good News" here MN Mighty Intercede - NOW! Alex Pretti Rene Good Ashli Babbitt Jeffrey Smith Every so often, a passage of Scripture hits you in a way that feels painfully relevant. Psalm 139 has been that passage for me lately: Those words remind us that every human life carries immeasurable worth. God’s involvement in our creation isn’t distant or mechanical; it’s intimate. Personal. Intentional. And because of that, the loss of any life is tragic. Alex Pretti, Rene Good, Ashli Babbitt, Jeffrey Smith, these are people who should still be here. Their loss is real and plaguing the core of America's conscience. Their lost lives are the result of a culture that has allowed politics, ideology, pride, fear, hate, and ...

Let Justice Roll Down Like Waters

Happy Son-Day!!! Amos 5:24 – “But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” You will always find the "Good News" here Go Time! Let Justice Roll Down Like Waters Last week, I veered into local happenings, a bit unusual for this blog since I try to avert politics. But when people are shot, killed, blinded, kidnapped, brutalized, incarcerated, or even disappeared for simply exercising their constitutional rights, silence isn’t an option. I feel both motivated and obligated to speak up for the oppressed. This Monday, we’ll celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and it’s hard not to think about how Dr. King lived out his faith with courage. He spoke boldly for the marginalized and the oppressed, echoing the heart of Scripture. The Bible is full of voices calling for justice: Amos, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Micah, Zechariah, and Ezekiel. These prophets didn’t whisper about injustice; they confronted it head‑on. Yet historically, many believers, and ...

Iniquitous Governance: A Call to Justice and Prayer

Good Son-Day!!! Micah 6:8   Leaders, God has told you what is good. What does the Lord ask of you but to do what is fair and to love kindness, and to walk without pride with your God. You will always find the "Good News" here. A Foodie Run Iniquitous Governance: A Call to Justice and Prayer Iniquitous Governance —meaning evil, unjust, and cruel leadership is not a new phenomenon. It has plagued societies since the first governments were formed. Even in the United States, where the Declaration of Independence proclaimed that “all men are created equal,” enslaved people were treated as property. Ten of the first twelve presidents owned slaves, and the Supreme Court upheld this injustice. Our history reminds us that injustice in leadership is not rare, it is recurring. History Echoes Today Sadly, this pattern continues. Just this past week in the Twin Cities, we witnessed another tragedy that cannot be justified. A government agency, tasked with apprehending undocumented indivi...

Reaching the Next Plateau: Striking Complacency

Good Son-Day!!! 24 Inches of Snowfall so far this season; last season total was 29 inches You will always find the Good News here. You Don't Know Jack Reaching the Next Plateau: Striking Complacency Life has a way of surprising us with quirky moments. Recently, due to some unusual customer behavior I observed, my wife decided I am officially banned from shopping at Cub Foods. Yes, banished from my favorite grocery store! So now, my adventures will continue at Hy-Vee, where I’m sure plenty of customer shenanigans await. But beyond grocery store drama, the new year has me thinking about something deeper: spiritual maturity. As I began preparing for my resolutions, I reflected on what Scripture calls “perfection.” In the Bible, perfection isn’t about being flawless; it’s about growth as a follower of Christ and as a human being. Jesus expects growth and productivity from His followers. In Mark 11:12-14 , we see this illustrated: 12 The next morning as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus...
