The Genuine Great Minnesota Get Together

Image
Happy Son-Day!!! The Genuine Great Minnesota Get Together The uniting of Mike and Jade   To my niece, Jade, and new nephew, Mike.  The family that sat on the left side of the aisle wish your union a harmonious and prosperous outcome each day.  The events of this wedding are just a small indicator of more love to come. What I saw yesterday during the ceremony to Mike’s and Jade’s commitment to each other from . . . Psalm 85:10  . . . Love and truth have met together. Peace and what is right and good have kissed each other. Song for the two: “I Will Be Here”, Steve Curtis Chapman  What About the Children?   HAPPY SON-DAY! What About the Children? In Brooklyn Park there is a section of the city that has suffered greatly from absent landlords, overcrowded apartment complexes, poverty, and gang wars. On the south border of this section is Brooklyn Boulevard.    On the north end, it is 85 th  Avenue.    On east end, it is Highway 252. On the West end, it is Zane Avenue.    There is a gang called Zone63 involved in most of the shooting as they interact with other gangs. But what America is seeing is violence transcends gang interaction.    Regular Ma and Pa Parent is resorting to violence over games kids play.    Case in point, on 8/17/22, in Dallas, a kids’ football game was played and after the game a fight broke out between the parents.    The melee only broke up because five shots rang out and caused a panic.    This event was caught on video and at the end of the video was a head coach lying dead on the ground from the shots.    Here is a link to the video:  https://www.cnn.com/2022/0

Summer Time Sunday at the Loop

Good Son-Day, Evening! Mustangs over Chicago https://www.instagram.com/p/Che-NVtjgjl/ Moms Birthdays and Duluth Summer Time Sunday at the Loop !!!WE INTERRUPT TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT TO BRING YOU THIS BREAKING NEWS!!!! Summer is drawing nigh, but we are not ready to release it yet. For many years, I have listened to recount her Sunday activities after church.  Jo will paint a story of her days as a teen in Chicago getting ready for an evening of South Style roller skating.  Jo would gather her coinage and bills for the price of admission.  If resources were low, she would soft talk her dad for the money. Jo’s destination was the “Loop Disco Roller Rink” on 95th Street.  When she arrived at the rink she was in her element.  The rink was an amazing world of graceful, stylistic, and showmanship  skating. Every Sunday, Jo connected with her group of girlfriends who were not on punishment. Typically, Chucky chauffeuring the group to the rink.  The fun would start at 2 PM and end at 10 PM.   T

Unbelievable Bennies

Good Son-Day Morning! Here is a throwback Josephine video from 1984.  Jo is poppin' and locking! Prelude to the State Fair Unbelievable Bennies! Last week, I noted that praise demands a sacrifice meaning you give God your heartfelt self regardless of how you feel.   Hebrews 13:15-16 “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise – the fruit of my lips that openly profess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” Today the focus is on what happens to us when you praise.   I call this Heavenly Bennies (i.e., benefits). Praises changes our personality.   It changes our focus from a earthly perspective to a Christ like one, otherwise known as Christian which means Christ-like.   Praise puts us in a humble mode.   Songs such as, “I Surrender All”, puts Christ at the helm of our lives.   We become more pliable and receptive to His will. He fills in our gaps and enhances our strengt

All About the Hallel!

Happy Son-Day! All About Hallel All About Hallel Last Spring, I attended my first Timberwolves playoff game. The Wolves were the second lowest seeded team in the tourney, which meant that they were playing the second highest seeded time in the tourney, the Memphis Grizzlies. The atmosphere in the building was charged with anticipation and excitement.   This is only the second time in the last twenty years they’ve been in the playoffs. The game was closely contested for its entirety.   The largest by any team was not more than 6 points.   For the majority of the two and half game people were on their feet yelling, screaming, and cheering.   No one complained.   For their support and allegiance to the local squad, the fans were rewarded with a rare playoff victory. I did take in of all the exuberance on display for 24 men on a gym flooring wearing a tee shirt and extended shorts throwing a leather ball into metal hoop. Then I compared this to what I have seen in worship services
