In Tune During Advent

Good Son Day!!! Almost An Hallmark - A Red Wing Christmas In Tune During Advent As Jo and I were doing the final preparations for our Thanksgiving dinner, I decided to pop on some Watercolors music from Sirius XM to set the right dinner mood.  I found myself sifting through the various songs and focusing on instruments I have play.  As a musician, you are constantly listening for new riffs and technique you can pull in to your repertoire. She grew tired of me talking about how jazz musicians have a tendency to use octave arpeggios in their riffs. As you focus, you will only hear the instrument of note.  Then, you will listen to see how that instrument blends in with the other instruments to bring about a beautiful musical art.  For singers, like a few of my sisters on both sides of our families, including my wife, you appreciate real singers who have honed their vocal chords into fined instruments to sing melodies and harmonies.  You appreciate the discipline of both working

GOOD SON-DAY!!! FAREWELL TO FALL   LEVEL UP YOUR THANKSGIVING Before I get started, for all you football fans out there. You absolutely must see a game this week on Skycast, on a big screen, and on your top surround sound.   It’s like being in a bleacher seat next to the band and behind the quarterback.   It’s like a virtual party.   Saturday night, I watched the #5 Tennessee Volunteers vs. the South Carolina Gamecocks.   The sounds from the stadium were way more entertaining than listening to the traditional telecast announcers spewing their opinions and statistics. Oh, Curtis, sorry about your Volunteers.   Back in the day . . . ummm 30 days ago, they were the American dream and ranked #1.   I suspect after this game they’ll drop to #15 and no chance of getting into the national semi-final games. My prediction for the final four, Georgia Bulldogs, The Ohio State Buckeyes, Texas Christian University Horned Frogs, and the University of Southern California Trojans. With Than

An Everlasting Reality Check

Good Son-Day! Boom to You Everlasting Reality Check Jo and I like, millions across the globe, went to see “ Wakanda Forever” this weekend.   First, what a great sequel.  The homage paid to the late Chadwick Boseman was respectful and honorable without pulling down the film. The movie carried forward the same message as its predecessor, hate never resolves anything.  Hate is the complete opposite of love.  Bible directly and clearly says Love is God, 1 John 4:7-8 .  That said clearly hate is our enemy.  Hate is a pure destructive force. Per  John 10:10, our enemy uses hate to kill, steal, and destroy. Hate in any form is a cancer that grows and gets deeply embedded into whomever will allow themselves to be enslaved by it. Hate is hard to shake once rooted in your psyche. What I enjoyed most about both Black Panther movies there was more than sufficient reason for the country and hero to retaliate and there was power to do it; yet nobility triumphed over hate and revenge. No

Good Son-Day!!! Hey Sisters, Word to Your Brother Keep It Reel, Ya'll Our shortest but deepest video yet! What I am Dealing with . . . her shirt says it all    My Saturday and a few throwbacks Good to see Chef Justin Sutherland is ok after a horrific boat accident and multiple surgeries Humble Ambition If you remember the hey day for prime-time soaps when shows Like “Dallas”, “Dynasty” and now “Bridgerton”, “Severance”, “Power”, “Empire”, and “Billions”.   The common theme in each of these is that all the players in the shows are rich.   Storylines for the most part focused on power.   Money was the secondary motivation in the shows. This week, I was negotiating a request from one of our business partners.   I settled on terms that my boss will need to approve.   One of my reports was not happy with the terms and internalized the results because the person felt they should have done the negotiations to arrive at the same outcome. After an extensive time of discussin
