GOOD SON-DAY!!!
FAREWELL TO FALL
LEVEL UP YOUR THANKSGIVING
Before I get started, for all you football fans out there.
You absolutely must see a game this week on Skycast, on a big screen, and on
your top surround sound. It’s like being
in a bleacher seat next to the band and behind the quarterback. It’s like a virtual party. Saturday night, I watched the #5 Tennessee
Volunteers vs. the South Carolina Gamecocks.
The sounds from the stadium were way more entertaining than listening to
the traditional telecast announcers spewing their opinions and statistics.
Oh, Curtis, sorry about your Volunteers. Back in the day . . . ummm 30 days ago, they
were the American dream and ranked #1. I
suspect after this game they’ll drop to #15 and no chance of getting into the
national semi-final games. My prediction for the final four, Georgia Bulldogs,
The Ohio State Buckeyes, Texas Christian University Horned Frogs, and the
University of Southern California Trojans.
With Thanksgiving week starting today, I will encourage you
to acknowledge your maker first and your love ones second. Don’t do a generic thanks, give them a gem by
calling out a specific action they have done for you. Then watch God gleam in
your life and your love one glow with a smile.
This kind of thanksgiving is a first fruit offering that is well
received by all. Take some time to recall, you have four days to do this
exercise of love.
Now, I digress-------where is saying grace at the dinner
table found in the Bible? Here is one of
multiple examples (never neglect it, even in a public setting------be proud to
do so. Otherwise, this passage may apply Luke 9:26, Whoever is ashamed of Me
and my words, I will be ashamed of them when I come in my glory and in the
glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
Acts 27:33-36, Saying Grace in
Public
33 Just before
dawn Paul urged them all to eat. “For the last fourteen days,” he said, “you
have been in constant suspense and have gone without food—you haven’t eaten
anything. 34 Now I urge you to take some food. You need it
to survive. Not one of you will lose a single hair from his head.” 35 After
he said this, he took some bread and gave thanks to God in front of them all.
Then he broke it and began to eat. 36 They were all
encouraged and ate some food themselves.
I will keep this short and end by saying I appreciate my
family and I thank God for YOU. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
P.S. near the end of Wakanda Forever, Namor utter his 83-year-old
catch phrase after he has vanquished his enemy, “Imperious Rex”, Latin for
“Empire King”.
Here is another catch phrase, grander than the previous, “Iesus, Caeli et Terrae Rex”, Latin for “Jesus, King of
Heaven and Earth”.
SONG OF THE WEEK.
Note – Jo and I will be highlighting 2023 Grammy nominated
songs over the next few weeks.
“Get Up”, 2022, Tye Tribbett. Lyrics in song.
