"Just Cuz"

Good Son-Day!!! Land of the Lynx Lovers "Just Cuz" Before I start, I just want to mention Maverick City will be in town at the Minneapolis Armory on Nov 14 @ 7 PM.  Tickets are still available.  Jo and I attended their concert at the Excel Center last year and enjoyed every minute of it.  You will not have any regrets if you attend. My last in a series on humility to each other and especially towards our Creator.  You can’t have a relationship with God without practicing both. Often, we are approached by others because of what we can offer to them.  Do you have people in your life who contact you when they want something?  Reflect.  How does that make you feel?  Used, obliged, or manipulated?  Let’s just say, even if there is a cordial beginning to contact, you know where the conversation is going to land.  The contact rings hollow no matter how they try to mix it up with some warm up empty chatter. On other hand, the contacts we cherish are the ones where the party who is

Good Son-Day Morning!!! The Blue Room & Burnt Ends No, Coach, Football Players Do Cry Last Sunday, I was coaching a 7th grade game in Forest Lake Minnesota.  I was a substitute because the real head coach was late coming to the game. My intent was to attend the game as a spectator and to support.   I did not know the players, their roles, and their plays.  The team was in disarray and I had to settle them down. I directed them with some simple plays to begin with until their coach arrived.  I have learned that if you get too complicated with the play calling it only leads to disaster on the field.  Even so, just hearing from a different coach caused them undue stress.  After the first play, one of the bigger players came to the sideline completely broken down in tears.  He comes to the sideline, muttering, “I can’t do this, I can’t do this.  It’s too much”.  This player had missed one blocking assignment and therefore the rest of the game was hopeless, so let's pack up shop a

Slip Into Your Wilderness

Good Son-Day!!! Kansas City Here I Come Part 1 Song of the Week I am starting with the Song of the Week first as a prelude to the text.   The song is “Yes I do” by Mali Music, 2023.  Lyrics below Slip Into Your Wilderness This song reflects the heart of worship we’ve all experienced at one time.  I want you to think back to a time when you approached a literal altar during a powerful worship or praise moment at church.  You and God connected in a way where your surroundings did not matter, only getting to the altar, bending your knees, laying prostrate to Him, and calling out to Him as the Great I am or Abba or Precious Lord.  You said, “ Here  am  I ”.  I am not requesting anything other than to be in Your Awesome Presence.  Total unfettered submission with a splendid, indescribable outcome. Luke 5:16, Jesus, Himself, would often slip away to the wilderness and pray. These extraordinary moments do not need to be a once in a lifetime experience.  Most of us do not have a literal alta

The Nudge

Good Son-Day . . . is any day really. Go Go Gophers!!! The Nudge A day late due to being on the road. Uploading this week’s entry from Missouri. To open, it’s important to find comfort in knowing whatever God is asking you to do, He equips you to do it. Last week, the humility emphasis was waiting on God.  His timeline supersedes your timeline.  This week, the humility emphasis is on promptly answering the call when He summons you.  Again, His timeline supersedes your timeline. Some of things we may say when God nudges us: I have heard from Him yet I am not ready I am not sensing it in my spirit I need to pray on it some more How do I know it’s Him It’s too much It really does not make a difference Too soon Too much The timing is not right I cannot do it alone Are you sure that’s the word Things are good as they are, why change it I am not in the right place to do what He has asked God will not ask you to do something you are incapable of doing.  Even if you do not see the possibilit
