"Just Cuz"
Good Son-Day!!!
"Just Cuz"
Before I start, I just want to mention Maverick City will be in town at the Minneapolis Armory on Nov 14 @ 7 PM. Tickets are still available. Jo and I attended their concert at the Excel Center last year and enjoyed every minute of it. You will not have any regrets if you attend.
My last in a series on humility to each other and especially towards our Creator. You can’t have a relationship with God without practicing both.
Often, we are approached by others because of what we can offer to them. Do you have people in your life who contact you when they want something? Reflect. How does that make you feel? Used, obliged, or manipulated? Let’s just say, even if there is a cordial beginning to contact, you know where the conversation is going to land. The contact rings hollow no matter how they try to mix it up with some warm up empty chatter.
On other hand, the contacts we cherish are the ones where the party who is contacting wants nothing more than to hear your voice and connect. Those calls may go on for hours because they take a serious interest in your well-being. They care about you, your success, and your family. The outcome is you reciprocate with the same. A relationship of substance.
This is a Billy Joel moment because this person cares and “loves you just the way you are” and not for what you can give them.
God initiated His love first for us. He loved us enough to give us His son.
1 John 4:19
We love Him because He first loved us.
God’s love rejuvenates our daily lives.
Lamentations 3:22-23
The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease.
Great is his faithfulness;
His mercies begin afresh each morning.
It is a love relationship that is to be guarded and preserved.
Romans 8:37-39
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Each when you come before His presence in whatever manner you do. Take a moment and put the prayer grocery list to the side, take a deep breath, and think about the remarkable and outstanding God and all He’s done in your life. Take an interest in what He wants to accomplish in your life and how He wants to use you to positively impact the lives of others.
Fix you lips to say words that adorn Him and love Him “Just Cuz”
