Practical Applications 

 
One of the first principles of change management is “What’s in it for me?”.  Meaning if you are changing something for someone, in order for the someone to accept the change, they have to see the benefits of the change; otherwise the change will be met with great resistance.
 
During the season of Pentecost, the focus has been on the under-appreciated Fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians chapter five. 

Galatians 5, “I say, walk in the Spirit. The fruit of walking in the Spirit is love, 

        • joy, 
        • peace, 
        • patience, 
        • kindness, 
        • goodness, 
        • faithfulness,
        • gentleness and 
        • self-control. 
At the office, these attributes are called soft skills.   What I have seen in the last 20 years is a shift where executives, leaders, and employers want these skillsets in people they hire and promote.  Too many times I have seen employees with great KSA’s and credentials, but no people skills. Additionally, I have frequently seen these people falter.  In one my past jobs, I had a person who had two masters and doctorate who was not promotable because she lacked interpersonal skills. 
 
For anyone who is afflicted with being dysfunctional in the workplace, home, and anywhere else on the planet.  There is a divinely easy solution.  

Now, comes the miracle that is the Fruit of the Spirit. His work in you is transformative.  If you don’t have soft-skills, He will grow them in you.  If you have the skillsets, He will enhance them. He wants to mold you after His image.  That is a part of your design. Its always has been.đź‘Ť

Some may thinking living a Spirit-filled life is one that very regulative.  I will not say there are not requirements. 

Faith is a mandate----not much, size of a mustard seed. Mustard seed actual size------> .).  

In regards to a Spirit-led life you are asking, "What's in it for me?"

The answer from my perspective has been a blessed life and that more abundant.  The bonus of the Spirit leading my life is his leadership is unfailing and graceful in an undeserved favor kind of way. I am not shackled. I am happy and quite free. I have no regrets and I am looking for more opportunities with Him in control. I am a practical man and the Spirit's applications are quite beneficial.

If you are saying I don't know if I can live this way.  No worries.  The Holy Spirit will teach you.

John 14:26, The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

If you are saying the Fruit of the Spirit is not one of my strongpoints.  Be encouraged, because the Holy Spirit bolsters you where you are weak

2 Corinthians 12:9, My grace (un-deserved favor) is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak.”
 
Allow the Spirit to do a miraculous, practical work in your life. Easy to do.  Just say yes to Him.

 Good Son-Day - The Start of  Something New Ice Creameisters! Live Roses The day after Christmas, I got a call from a former co-worker I had connected with for about a year or so. I started the conversation by asking about her grandchild and two daughters. I proceeded to ask her how her husband was doing and got an unexpected quick but poignant answer: "Oh, he's doing fine; we're getting a divorce."  Wait, what! Recently, I sat in on a conversation with some employees outside one of our buildings.  The conversation turned to a Minneapolis suburb called "Blaine".  They talked about the vivid dichotomy between the impoverished trailer parks and the lavish homes in the new developments.  I then cringed when I heard them refer to the people residing in the trailer homes as "White Trailer Trash" and this was uttered by a person of the same color.
