Good Son-Day and Happy Pentecost!

Acts of the Apostles 2:1

On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting.

Also, from the Jewish Holiday Calendar, Happy Shavuot (Festival of First Fruits)!

A little more Hebrew: Ruach Elohim (Spirit of God), Ruach YHWH (Spirit of Yahweh), and the Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit).  Come on Someone, Say His name.

Reflecting His Personality

The six weeks, I have focused on the day-to-day functioning of Holy Spirit in our live in the form of the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22 – 23,  The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control).

With all the shootings both across the country and locally, people floundering trying to find hope in this society.

You my friend, are that hope in times of no hope otherwise known as despair.

You say I live by the Spirit.  Part of living by the Spirit is allowing His personality to be reflected by your behavior, which is the sweetness of the Fruit.  A sweetness that compels people to follow what you are doing.

Living by the Spirit is a sign to the believers and unbelievers alike that God is real.

Acts 2:17

God says,  "I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.  Your sons and daughters will prophesy.  Your young men will see visions,  and your old men will dream dreams.  In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants—men and women alike—and they will prophesy.  And I will cause wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below".

I found this bit on NY Times Instagram site, “Instead giving people a piece of your mind, try giving them a piece of your heart.”  Oddly, this adage is exactly what the Holy Sprit is trying to do.  Lead others by example by following the leading of the Holy Spirit. In 1 Corinthians 11:1, Paul showed a little bravado by stating,Follow me, as I follow Christ”.  Keep in mind when he said this, he did not have a Thompson-Chain, Gideon, King James, or NIV Bible.  He only had Old Testament scriptures. The New Testament was not published until about 300 years later.

Yet he knew exactly what Christ wanted him to do by following the Holy Spirit’s guidance.  He wrote the bulk of the New Testament epistles through the help of the Holy Spirit.  Moreover, the early age saints from 32 AD to about 333 AD were dependent on the Holy Spirit.  How were they able to accomplish this?  More on that later.  Suffice it to say, many of the early saints endured lions, tigers, and bears, (quite literally), and the move of the Holy Spirit is as strong as ever.

Now, a moment of meditation on His essence and power by His biblical names (and yes, Comforter is one of them):

The Comforter

The Comforter will come, the Comforter will come

Jesus said the Comforter will come; He promised that the Comforter will come

And when He comes; He will guide you into all truth

The Comforter will come, the Comforter will come

Jesus said the Comforter will come; He promised that the Comforter will come

And when He comes; He will guide you into all truth

Peace I give you; Joy I leave with you

Don’t afraid; Don’t be dismayed

If I don’t go, He will not come, come to comfort you

If you love me, keep my commandments

I will pray the Father and he will send you another Comforter

And He will abide in you forever; Forever!

The Comforter will come, the Comforter will come

Jesus said the Comforter will come; He promised that the Comforter will come

And when He comes; He will guide you into all truth

If you love me, keep my commandments

I will pray the Father and He will send you another Comforter

And He will abide in you forever; Forever!

The Comforter has come, the Comforter has come

Jesus said the Comforter has come; He promised that the Comforter will come

And since He’s comes; He is guiding you into all truth

The Comforter has come, the Comforter has come

The Comforter has come, the Comforter has come

And since He’s comes; He is guiding you into all truth

The Comforter has come (5x)

I Love You with My Life

I would like to say,

Just before I leave you,

I'll be back someday,

And with me I will take you

So do not be afraid,

Only watch and pray,

And wait for my return.

I've done what I must do,

My work here is completed,

It's all been done for you,

Believe what I have stated,

And I will give you peace

Through all your tribulations,

Until I come again.

Please now that I love you,

I'll stay by your side.

If only now in spirit,

I'll still be your guide.

You will not suffer long,

For I have suffered for you,

I love you with my life.

I'll prepare a place

Where we can live together,

I'll meet you face to face,

To share our new forever.

Don't let your love grow cold,

And I will not allow

What's more than you can bear.

CHORUS:

Love you with my life.

Holy Spirit
