BHM Factoid

A 12-year-old Martin jumped from a second story window at his family home, allegedly attempting suicide.  Throughout his life he suffered from depression.  Some of it stemming from the harsh life in the south.

EMBRACE AND CELEBRATE: OUR HERITAGE TO LOVE AND PREVAIL IN A CLIMATE OF HATE.

I have a great appreciation of the history of people with a enslaved ancestry.  The continual pursuit of equity, humanity, and democracy has exacted a excruciatingly painful price from an extraordinary tribe.  The approach to achieving equal footing has been multiple marches on DC in various forms that bolstered democracy rather than put in peril with lunacy, lies, and hostility.

The noble tribe has every right to harbor animosity for what has occurred over 400 years.  Instead, the chosen tool to make change has been peace and collaboration.  MLK Jr led peaceful and non-violent resistance that often met with terror.  He was undeterred because he understood the endgame.  He was quoted as saying, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

The next line of thought is more related to the Easter season, but at any time during Christ’s trial, torture, and crucifixion He could have uttered a word or two and vanquished His tormentors. He “exercised love even to the moment of His last breath.  His last words, “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do”, Luke 23:34.

Hate never solves anything, it only kills, steals, and destroys. John 10:10.

Christ’s and MLK Jr’s legacy has improved the lives millions and billions and stands the test of time. This because love prevails.  And where there is love there is Christ. And to finish John 10:10 I am come that they might have life and life more abundantly!

“Able” lyrics

Able

You're more than able

Ain't no problem that's too hard

For a strong and mighty God

Yes, You are able

You're more than able

Time and time again You prove

I can always count on You

Yes, You are able

Able

Ain't no problem that's too hard

For a strong and mighty God

You are Able

You're so much more than able

Time and time again, You prove

I can always count on You

You are faithful

More than faithful

A sweeter love that never stops

It will finish what it starts

You are faithful

More than faithful

And when I don't understand

I still leave it in Your hand

Help me sing, faithful

Faithful

A sweeter love that never stops

It will finish what it starts

I'm so glad You are faithful

Over and over again You are faithful

And when I don't understand

I still leave it in Your hand

So I am thankful

Lord, I'm so very thankful

For Your never-ending grace

And Your brand new mercies every day, I am

Thankful

Thankful

I'm in awe of what You've done

Many victories You've won

Thankful

Thankful

For Your never-ending grace

Brand new mercies every day

Thankful

Thankful

I'm in awe of what You've done

All the victories You've won

Thankful

Thankful

For Your never ending grace

Brand new mercies every day

Thankful

Thankful

I'm in awe of what You've done

All the victories You've won

Jesus

You're more than able

Ain't no problem that's too hard

For a strong and mighty God

Yes, You are able

You're more than able

Time and time again You prove

I can always count on You
