FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PEOPLE: OMNI-SPEAK

A favorite saying amongst believers to uphold our faith with God  and each other is “God is good all the time” and the response is “All the time God is good”.  The strength of this affirmation exchange is the word “all”.

It speaks to God’s infallibility, His reliability, His ability to defy the laws of science, His love.

All refers to God’s omni-traits, omni-sci (all knowing), omnipotent (all powerful), omni-present (always there---everywhere), and omnibenevolent ( all good---supremely good), omni-life (all life – He is our existence. . . “I am that I am” a).

Knowing these divine attributes is deeply assuring.  We are never alone in whatever we face; moreover, we are in a wonderful position to be successful in whatever endeavor.

In one week, we celebrate the resurrection of the Anointed Savior, which meaning of the anglicized name Jesus Christ.  I told you who God is.  I would ask you as Holy Week approaches, who do you say He is?   Peter replied, “You are the anointed (chosen one), the Christ, the Son of God. b

This gets us back to why things like this out loud or to declare for everyone to hear.  It is affirming.

Jesus obviously knew He was, but He wanted Peter and the others to uphold publicly who He is.  We still must do this.  Nothing but good comes out of this.  Make this week “Declaration Week” to coincide with Holy Week.

I would end by saying think on these things, better----------say these things.

a.       aExodus 3:14

b.       bMatthew 16:15

SONG OF THE WEEK

It’s Gonna Rain”, 1999, performed by Milton Brunson & Thompson Community Singers, song written by Andre Crouch.

Yes, the title is the same as last week’s song, but trust me it is a different song.  You get the best of two Gospel music styles.  The singers are from the South of Chicago and the music is LA style with Andre’s contribution.

A little history.  The original Thompson Community Singers were formed by Rev. Milton Brunson in 1948 when he was still a high school student. The community choir regularly met and rehearsed at Chicago’s St. Stephens Church where the pastor, Rev. Eugene Thompson, was a huge supporter, and christened itself in his honor.

Rev. Brunson eventually became an ordained minister and formed Christ Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in 1962 on Chicago’s westside (North Central Ave & Iowa St). Rev. Brunson died suddenly in 1997. His widow continued the choir for a while before disbanding it and supervised its final album Real for Word Records in 2000.

It’s Gonna Rain Lyrics

Can't you see the clouds gathering

Don't let it be said too late

There's a brand new feeling in the air

Better run to the ark before the rain starts

You better come on in this house

It's gonna rain

It's gonna rain (Repeat)

Doors have been

Opened wide open, just call his name

Don't wait too late because it's gonna rain

Come on, follow me, it's gonna rain (Repeat)

Doors have been

Opened wide open, just call his name

Don't wait too late because it's gonna rain
