LE CADEAU SYMBOLISANT LA LIBERTÉ

Good Son-Day!!!!

Happy Birthday Violet

FYI - This video was produced entirely on my iPhone with the Capcut app.

LE CADEAU SYMBOLISANT LA LIBERTÉ – given content below a French title is most appropriate.  Google it.

This video is the last in our series on Manhattan attractions.  In terms of fun U.S. cities to visit NYC ranks second to Washington D.C.  A close second to NYC is the San Francisco Bay area and then Los Angeles.  We could have seen more attractions if we had more time.  Keep in mind, we were in Manhattan just two full days.

The piece de resistance was our boat tour around the Statute of Liberty and Lower Manhattan.

My bride gave me “the wife stink-eye look” because I attended multiple meetings via MS Teams while I was there. One of the meetings I participated in was when we were eating lunch in the middle of Times Square.  I understand I have a sister who is just like me.  Hey, I can do this now, work in other states short term.  I love the flexibility and freedom to do this.

This leads me to the flexibility and freedom we have in life.  Some leaders in this country are becoming more authoritarian to oddly protect the freedoms of their constituents, or more like the preferences of their voting base.  God offers an authentic freedom.

Another church jargon we hear is, "there is Liberty in Christ", which actually is rooted in scripture, 2 Corinthians 3:17.  Here it is in context.

2 Corinthians 3:16-18 New KJV

Nevertheless, when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is LIBERTY. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

I love the paraphrased “The Message” version of this scripture it provides a profound image of our Living God and how He frees us to fully function in His sacred presence.

Whenever, we turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil, and there we are—face-to-face! We suddenly recognize that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone.

God is personally present, a LIVING SPIRIT; that old constricting religion is obsolete. We’re free of it! All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him.

Imagine the opportunity to have His luminescence emanating from our person; impacting others miraculously and all the while, He is blessing us more abundantly (John 10:10).  Remember with me, for 50 days after Easter, it is about the Pentecost!  The advent of the Holy Spirit; His light, His shine, His luminescence shines on us and reflects back on other.

Liberty is somewhat regulative meaning there is a perfect law of liberty to follow.  Here it is . . .

James 1:25 KJV

But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.

Let’s break this down again in a newer translated version of the Bible. . .

James 1:25 ERV (Easy to Read Version)

But when you look into God’s Perfect Law, His Word, it sets people free; pay attention to it. If you do what it says, you will have God’s blessing. Never just listen to His teaching and forget what you heard.

Believers do not live a shackled, boring, rule-bound life.  This is the very thing Christ was correcting with the Sadducees and Pharisees in His time on Earth.  He wants better for us, not worse. As my Mother would say Selah.

🎵🎵🎵It must be nice, it must be nice to have Jesus on your side.🎵🎵----sooner later someone wiil catch the source of this phrase.

SONG OF THE WEEK

"My Liberty", 1983, Yolanda Adams.  She was 22 years old at the time.

My Liberty, Lyrics

I want to see the blessed face

Of Him who died for me

Sacrificed his life for my liberty

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

I want, I want to see the blessed face

Of Him who died for me

Sacrificed his life for my liberty

He saved my life (before I ever new it)

He paid the price (he didn't have to do it)

And I know (I never can repay him)

But all my life (I will ever praise His Name)

I will praise His name

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

I want to see the blessed face (I want to see)

Of Him who died for me (for he sacrificed his life)

(yeah, yeah, yeah) sacrificed his life for my liberty

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

I want, I want to see the blessed face (of Him who died for me)

He Sacrificed his life for my liberty (he sacrificed his life, yeah, yeah, yeah)

Oh, He saved my life (before I ever new it)

He paid the price (He didn't have to do it)

And I know (I never can repay him)

But all my life (I will ever praise His Name)

Don't you know, He picked me up? (And turned me all around)

And in His love (I am ever found)

Don't you know, He gave me joy? (and takes away the sorrow)

And He is my hope (for my tomorrow)

Don't you know that he is? (the joy of my salvation)

And I have, I have, I have (a new determination)

How could he love me so

I think, I'll never know why He (sacrificed His life)

Hallelujah (sacrificed His life) glory to ya

(Sacrificed His life) Lord, I adore you

(Sacrificed His life) I'll put no one before you

(Sacrificed His life for my liberty) oh, yeah

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

Oh, He saved my life (before I ever new it)

He paid the price (He didn't have to do it)

And I know (I never can repay him)

But all my life (I will ever praise His Name)

You know, He picked me up, he picked me up? (And turned me all around)

And in His love (I am ever found)

Don't you know, He gave me joy? (and takes away the sorrow)

And the Lord is my hope (for my tomorrow)

Don't you know that he is? (the joy of my salvation)

And I have, I have, I have (a new determination)

How could He love me so

I'm sure I'll I'll never know why He (sacrificed His life)

Lord, Hallelujah (sacrificed His life)

Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory to ya (sacrificed His life)

Lord, I adore you (sacrificed His life)

I'll place no one before you (sacrificed His life)

Through the sunshine and rain, holding the pain (sacrificed His life)

I got nothing to lose, oh yeah (sacrificed His life)

Oh yeah, (for my liberty)

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

He gave me, He gave me, He gave me my life (He didn't have to do it)

And He paid, He paid, He paid the price (He didn't have to do it)

And I know, know, know (I couldn't never repay Him)

But all of my life (I could never repay Him)

How could He love me so?

I'm sure, I will never know why He (sacrificed His life)

Hallelujah (sacrificed His life)

Glory to ya (sacrificed His life)

Lord, I truly adore you (sacrificed His life)

I'll place no one before you (sacrificed His life)

Even though my friends may forsake me (sacrificed His life)

Lord, I know you're the one that set me free (Sacrificed His life)

Oh, Hallelujah (sacrificed His life)

Lord, I truly love you (sacrificed His life)

Oh yeah (for my liberty)
