Bashing the Blockades!
Good Son-Day!!!😃
It has been a while, but I used to do pilates at LifeTime fitness. It was free for a while and now they charge for the sessions. While stretching, the instructor often would mention unlocking your seven chakra points which they claim are the energy centers in your body. These energy centers each correspond to certain nerve bundles and major organs. The instructor claims to function at your best, your chakras need to stay open, or balanced. If they get blocked, you may experience physical or emotional symptoms related to a particular chakra.
There is no scientific evidence supporting the existence of chakra, but it is mainstay instruction professed by yoga and pilate instructors. Nonetheless, the pilates and yoga stretches are helpful. Pro athletes are now discovering the benefits of the stretches and how it prevents injuries.
In a spiritual sense there may be blockage that is preventing you from being your best. I will name a few common traits that are definite blockades:
Incorrigibility - the refusal to learn something helpful, useful, or better
Vanity - too much pride about yourself
Arrogance - thinking you are better than someone
Unforgiveness - harboring long term resentment for what someone else did to you
Bible addresses each one of these traits above in order of the bullets
Proverbs 29:1 Whoever is stubborn after being corrected many times will suddenly be hurt beyond cure.
James 4:6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”
1 Samuel 2:3 “Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the Lord is a God who knows what you have done; he will judge your actions.
Matthew 6:14-15 Jesus said to them, “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins”.
Notice how each impairs your relationship with God or others. Who wants that??!!!
The countermeasure requires a sledgehammer. I love working with sledgehammers. The tool, with one or two swings, can obliterate any wall, including metal, drywall, and concrete. The obvious sledgehammer to break the blockades above is prayer.
James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
You may be saying to yourself, “Ooooooo, yeah the first part of that passage might be a problem”. Then say to yourself, “Are you hungry or are you starving?!!”, meaning do you want the above blockades (i.e., incorrigibility, vanity, arrogance, and unforgiveness) to continue to be a detriment to a fulfilling life with God.
A great compliment to prayer is humility.
1 Peter 5:6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time He will lift you up in honor.
In the future, I will further address the benefits of humility and showing that is not an inaction or a weak trait. Instead is one of the most powerful actions you can exhibit.
