My post is short today. I have been recovering from a bout with food poisoning.
Last week, the topic of divine relationship blockers was covered (e.g., arrogance, vanity). This week let's flip the scrip by covering characteristics that endear you to God and man. One of the most powerful traits is one that is considered by man one of the weakest, humility.
This line of thinking is the furthest thing from the truth. Here is the biblical mindset we should have about humility . . .
1 Peter 5:5-7
5 In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,
“God opposes the proud
but shows favor to the humble.”
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
To further growth in your Godly Journey. Here is the mindset you should have about others. Keep in mind, your God is the creator of life and all life is precious to Him. The moment you feel superior to someone else, please harken back to this passage of scripture from Philippians 2:5-11
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ
6
Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7
rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
9
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11
and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father
You can clearly see from the two passages God adores humility something He Himself modeled for us to do.
Next up, what does humility look like in practice..
Song of the Week
Cast All Your Cares, 2000, Gary Oliver.
I could not resist this song after referencing 1 Peter 5:7 above...Cast all your anxiety on Him for He cares for you." It is a song that brings comfort and reassurance of God's love for us.
Cast All Your Cares Lyrics
Solo
Cast all your cares, upon the Lord
Cast all your cares, up - on the Lord,
For He cares for you,
And He knows what you're going through,
Why don't you cast all your cares upon the Lord.
All
Cast all your cares, upon the Lord
Cast all your cares, up - on the Lord,
For He cares for you,
And He knows what you're going through,
Why don't you cast all your cares upon the Lord. /2X

When troubles come, call Him.
When sickness comes, call Him
When trials come, call Him
When heartache comes, Call Him
Call Him, Call Him
For He cares for you.
And He knows what you're going through
Why don't you cast all your cares upon the Lord.
When troubles come, call Him.
When trials comes, call Him
When sickness come, call Him
When heartache comes, Call Him
Call Him, Call Him
Tell me what is His name, Jesus,
What's His name, Jesus
Somebody lift your hands and call His name, Jesus
Somebody say Jesus, Jesus
For He cares for you.
And He knows what you're going through
Why don't you cast all your cares
Why don't you cast all your cares
Why don't you cast all your cares
Why don't you cast all your cares
Why don't you cast all your cares
