Good Son-Day!!!
Jo's Vegas and Cali Excursion
A Pampering God
For four hours yesterday and seven today, I was a frozen Bob-sicle as I was out coaching 6, 7, and 8th grades in their final games. Got in at 7 PM tonight.
Now my focus shifts to spending an abundance of my time with Jo. I am sure she is looking forward to me being home and interrupting her Hallmark “Christmas-in-every-month” marathon 24/7.
Last week, the focus was on taking some time and effort to pamper yourself . This week we have a similar theme. The switch up is letting God pamper you. He knows your stresses, your needs and when you need a little TLC.
Matthew 11:28-30 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
Jesus is offering to carry your burden and resolve the issues you are facing to lead you to Him—those who are "yoked" to Him. Yoke in this sense means attached to Christ.
How do I attach myself to God?
Matthew 6:33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
Ask yourself this question, when was the last time you cleared a substantive block of time to purely settle yourself in His bliss, His presence? Where you simply meditated on the Word. Retreated to unencumbered prayer. You pamper yourself in His goodness. I am seeing athletes (e.g., Aaron Rogers, Rudy Gobert) finding personal solace and focus by retreating to themselves for a days to rejuvenate and to improve themselves.
Believe God already is blessing you. Even in your sleep He is taking care of you.
Romans 8:26-27 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers[a] in harmony with God’s own will.
God blesses His people. Even the enemy knows you are blessed.
Job 1:8-10 Then the Lord said, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil.”
The enemy replied to the Lord, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. You have always put a wall (HEDGE) of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is!
We watch shows on Hulu, Disney, Netflix, Prime, Paramount, …etc., to kick back. Kick back with God and let Him pamper you.
Song of the Week. Hallelujah! Sing a New Song to GOD. Sing HIS praise in the assembly of godly people. Psalm 149:1
“Divine”, 2023, Sharyn Kyazze
I needed a song that I could lie on my bed, close my eyes and kick-it. This so fit the bill. No video yet. You will need to access the via iTunes https://music.apple.com/us/album/divine/1708430534?i=1708430535
Divine Lyrics
You changed me when nothing else could
You knew me when I was misunderstood
You loved me when no one else would
You’ve taken all my broken, made the bad thing good.
My, God, Your scars are like mine
My God, Your love’s so divine
My God, Your scars are like mine
My God, Your love’s so divine
You helped me when the bottle didn't hit
Gave me an identity when the boxes and labels wouldn’t fit
You kept me from falling off the edge
Saved me from myself when they’d all left me for dead
My, God, Your scars are like mine
My God, Your love’s so divine
My God, Your scars are like mine
My God, Your love’s so divine
My, God, Your scars are like mine
My God, Your love’s so divine
My God, Your scars are like mine
My God, Your love’s so divine
The sky paints you so beautiful
Each day your glory becomes more visible
The sky paints you so beautiful
Each day your glory becomes more visible
Grace so irresistible
It’s overwhelming yeah
Love so unconditional
Your love’s so divine
My, God, Your scars are like mine
My God, Your love’s so divine
My God, Your scars are like mine
My God, Your love’s so divine
My God, My God, My God, My God
Your love’s so divine
