A Daily Dose Will Do Ya!

A Daily Dose Will Do Ya!

One of my deeply profound and prized joys in life is to bring a smile to Jo’s every day.  That goal is accomplished through “Elaine Benes type dances”, dad jokes, make you want to pee tickles, you can’t make it up people on the job stories, in-law jokes (oh wait, scratch that one, I will get in trouble for saying that her and my sisters), staring at her for no reason for an extended period time, teasing, and being a regular goofy husband/ dad/ -mmmm just being a man in general.

I have been blessed because she puts up with me and my attempts towards humor.  Her response varies.  Sometimes it’s a sigh, an “ugh”, “seriously”, “grow up, Bobby”, “sad”,  “OMG”.  But always a smile.  “Bingo!”

We all can stand for a well meaning daily dose of humor.  Proverbs 17:22 says, a joyful heart is good medicine.

My encouraging word today is to bring some joy and laughter to those around you.  Abraham’s wife, Sarah understood when laughter is brought to one person it has a tendency to be contagious and bring great joy to others.  Genesis 21:6, Sarah said, “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about what HE did will laugh with me”

My brother is a master at bringing joy to our family.  Everything he says or does to bring laughter to us is the honest truth and never to be challenged.  All of us need to send a word of thanks to him because he brings us joy because he sincerely loves his family.

We all like being loved.

To my brother, I will repeat what Job said to his family and friends, even in the midst of his trials, Job 29:24, When I smiled at them, they scarcely believed it: the light of my face was precious to them.

Never stop bringing the joy, Alex; it brings out the best in us.

Song of the Week.  Hallelujah! Sing a New Song to GOD. Sing HIS praise in the assembly of godly people. Psalm 149:1

“Witness Me”, 2023.  Jacob Collier, featuring Shawn Mendes, Stormzy and Kirk Franklin.

Medium tempo song with a theme of God seeing the best in us and us recognizing His goodness.  Great lyrics and smooth harmonies by the lead and backup singers.

Witness Me Lyrics

[Verse 1: Jacob Collier]

You tell me you're broken (Ooh, ooh, ooh)

Tell me it's over now (Ooh, ooh, ooh)

You say you're done hoping (Ooh, ooh, ooh)

You tell me all the lights gone out (Ooh, ooh, ooh)

Well, maybe you're lost then (Ooh, ooh, ooh)

Maybe you're far from home (Ooh, ooh, ooh)

If you only keep walking (Ooh, ooh, ooh)

You never will walk alone (Ooh, ooh, ooh)

[Pre-Chorus: Jacob Collier]

'Cause when I'm with you

There's nothing that I wouldn't do

You're the one that I've waited for

To bring out the best in me (Ooh)

I'm out in the blue

I'm holding my hand out to you

You're the one that I've waited for

I'm holding onto you

[Chorus: Jacob Collier]

I'm with you (I'm with you)

I'm with you hеre (I'm with you here)

You'rе the light I need (You're the light I need)

In the dark I see (In the dark I see)

I'm with you (I'm with you)

I'm with you here (I'm with you here)

You are all I see (You are all I see)

You witness me (Woah, witness me)
