Tis the Season to Be Giving -

Give a Gift that Never Stops Giving

Yesterday, I attended the ten year anniversary of Pastors Thomas and Mary Bady’s church,   New Jerusalem.  I had the opportunity to engage with many familiar faces I have not seen in a long time.  My intention was to mingle, say a few words, and go visit my sister.

There was a familiar theme with manyI connected with.  “Thank you, Pastor Bob, the teaching and or sermon you delivered years ago has impacted my life.  One member recounted the title and the Nehimiah text scripture of a sermon I delivered in 2009. Even I had to go back to my repository of sermons to find that one.

The point today is God’s Word is life, brings life, changes life, strengthens life, enhances life. Better yet I will use an active voice, God’s Word is living.

We sing the song, “God is Not Dead”-----He’s still alive. I can feel Him in my…

The theology of this song is spot on.

1 Peter 1:23 speaks to the Living Word of God, “For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.”

To be clear the Living Word of God is active and impacts the way you think and how your spirit moves in your life. It impacts your intellectual core and behavior. It connects your spirit with the Spirit of God.  Hebrews 4:12, For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

We all know faith comes from hearing a message about Word, and the message is heard through the Word about Christ (Romans 10:17).

It is no wonder the people I spoke to remember some of the teachings and sermons.

Depositing The Living Word in your soul and spirit will fortify you for you need to call on it for decisions and anything you face in Life.  The Living Word and you are a supernatural, invincible team.  Isaiah 43:26, Put ME in remembrance; Let us contend together.

I am a servant (the real word for minister) who has been blessed with the opportunity to give a gift each Sunday in various forms for most of my life. This gift keeps giving.

One young man yesterday said we received so much back in the day. I am still trying to figure out life. I asked him if he has a family, he responded in the affirmative.  I told him to take that “so much back in the day”, and use it and definitely pass on as your primary legacy to them. Don’t let your sons and daughters grow up without the treasure you received.   Sometimes  we forget what we already know. It’s your job to train a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.  It’s there, son. Impart, impart” (Proverbs 22:6).  The young man gave me a huge grin and the look of uncertainty turned into a look of confidence flowing over.

This Christmas season, allow God to use you and verbally share His Living Word.  Yes verbally!  Don’t be bashful.  Believe it—people want— the spirit is willing.  Jesus said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” (Luke 11:28).  Lace it in a conversation or with family or friends, at the right timing, share a passage to show you care.

Happy Birthday, Carmen, Alex, and Roma.  And a prayer of recovery for Benita. I wish the best for all of you. Missing my bride who is 2,175 miles away from BP in the Dominican Republic at the moment.

Song of the Week.  Hallelujah! Sing a New Song to GOD. Sing HIS praise in the assembly of godly people. Psalm 149:1

I Love You, 2023.  Erica Campbell

Mostly a poem in a cappella form.  Great harmony, a good mix of background singers aligned with the lead.

Lyrics - I Love You

Love you

I love you, I love you,

I love you, I love you,

I love you,

Dear Jesus I, I do

Oh, oh, oh, I

Lord I just thank you so much

Whe life emptied my

You just keep filling me up

Over and over  and over again

You give me more than enough

And if that wasn’t enough

You cover me  with your love

Your peace, your mercy

Your grace and your favor

Your strength, Your power

Stand tall over me like a tower

2020 it tried to devour

But your angels surrounded me around the clock 24 hours

Dear Jesus, dear Jesus, dear Jesus

I don’t have to holler

You hear me regardless

Even though I messed up

Don’t deserve an audience

But you’re in the front row of my life

That is I know that I’ll be alright

That is why I love you

I love you, I love you,

I love you, I love you,

I love you,

Lord, I really do

Dear Jesus, I, I do

Oh, oh, oh I

In so many seasons

For so many reasons

I am so confident

You’re never leaving

So I’m never leaving

Hope my life is pleasing

I know, I know it seems hard to believe it

Invisible man in the sky

You can’t see Him

Sometimes, I don’t understand why

The things that we need it’s so hard to receive  them

But you never come short on supply

You keep giving on one can deny

Tell me different the devil is a lie

Want the proof man just look at my life

He’s the truth man, quit listening to lies

Live for Jesus and you will never die

Put Him in the front row of your life

I promise you, you will be alright

Jesus, I love you

I love you, I love you,

I love you, I love you,

I love you,

Lord, I really do

Dear Jesus, I, I do

Oh, oh, oh I love You

I love you, I love you,

I love you, I love you,

I love you,

Lord, I really do

Dear Jesus, I, I do

Oh, oh, oh I love You

I love you, I love you,

I love you, I love you,

I love you,

Lord, I really do

Dear Jesus, I, I do
