Go Tell Them!
Happy Easter, everyone!
Oddly, on the Richter scales of the most popular or celebrated holidays scale, the average rank of Easter is #9. In sequence here are the average rankings: #1 Thanksgiving, 2 Christmas, 3 Halloween, 4 Mothers' Day, 5 Independence Day, 6 Memorial Day, 7 Labor Day, 8 Veterans' Day, 9 Easter.
No Easter parade. No Easter holiday songs channel on Sirius XM. No fireworks. No memorable Easter movies or TV specials.
This is perplexing considering Jesus himself right after the resurrection He said to Mary & Mary, "Go instead to my brothers and tell them,
‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God." (John 20:17)";
5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell His disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” (Matt 28:5-7)
In these passages Jesus is saying to folks this is a big deal, make sure you tell everyone, "Jesus is alive!". The celebration follows the announcement
What I love about my Lord, He brought us along for the ride to live eternally with Him.
This holiday to some may have the glitter and popularity of other celebration, it certainly is the most significant, meaningful, and glorious.
Someone needs to celebrate the resurrection with me.
Text me back a photo of you and yours and be blessed mightily on this most precious of days.
