The Great I Am

Happy Son-day and Harvest Time

A Tuss Adventure in Foggy Bottom DC

The Great I am

All weekend, Jo and I were playing farmers Bubba Joe and Mamma Jo.  We harvested the plentiful bounty of our Elm, Ash, Maple, and Birch tree; 10 trees total. We hauled to the recyle center approximately 3,300 pounds of šŸ.  Our trees are fruitful; no need to biblically curse the trees.

So, we lost a weekend and are now catching up.

At North Central, in our homiletics (sermon writing and speaking class) courses, we were taught do not get too cute during the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter holidays in terms of sermon topics.  Speak on things relative to season.

I was going to do exactly that, until a still voice said, but I want you to go a slightly different direction with a focus on the great "I Am" (Exodus 3:14-15, John 8:24,28, 58).  This phrase is God's way of reveling His existence to us. The actual word He used was Yahweh which literally means "I am".  The name speaks of His eternal personal nature and His self-sufficiency.

For those of us who have who have had a divine experience, praise session, a worship moment, meditation, prayer hour, healing, and/or miracle, we often will say, "He's God all by Himself!" during high praise and testimony services.

Consider yourself uniquely blessed when God seeks you personally to reveal Himself to you.  It is an affirmation of your relationship to you.  Reminder, your faith always will put you in line for a blessing.  He also gird you up with all you need to endure, be resilient, be unharmed, be prepared, be plannful, be poised, and most importantly be victorious in troubled times.

2 Corinthians 9:8-10
ā€œAnd God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you'll abound in every good work. As it is written: 'They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.'ā€

Here is a reminder of your wondrous God.  This passage is about the miracles performed the moment Christ died on the cross.

Matthew 27:50-53
50 Then Jesus shouted out again, and he released his spirit. 51 At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart, 52 and tombs opened. The bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead. 53 They left the cemetery after Jesusā€™ resurrection, went into the holy city of Jerusalem, and appeared to many people.

Be patient. Your turn to be caught up in blessings and glory is already here and more to come.   Be thankful to God for evealing Himself to you.  When I see you next, share your revelation story to me.

Song of the Week - Hallelujah! Sing a New Song to GOD. Sing HIS praise in the assembly of godly people. Psalm 149:1.

"That's My King", February 2024, CeCe Winans-Love
A rich thanksgiving song!

Lyrics
Ooh
I wish I could tell you
Wish I could describe it
But I can't contain it, can't keep it to myself
There aren't enough colors
To paint the whole picture
Not enough words to ever say what I found
Wonderful and beautiful
And glorious and holy
He is merciful and powerful
Who we talkin' about?
That's my king
We declare the glory
Give him all the honor
Altogether worthy
Who we talkin' about?
That's my king
There's no one before you
Yes, we will adore you
All of this is for you
Who we talkin' about?
That's my king
Jesus, you're my king, hey
I'm not letting the rocks cry
Without joining the chorus
There aren't enough notes to make the harmony
It's the song of the angels (angels)
Through all of the ages (ages)
It's all of the earth and heaven's symphony
Wonderful and beautiful
And glorious and holy
He is merciful and powerful
Who we talkin' about?
That's my king
We declare the glory
Give him all the honor
Altogether worthy
Who we talkin' about?
That's my king
There's no one before you
Yes, we will adore you
All of this is for you
Who we talkin' about?
That's my king
That's my king
Is he your king tonight?
That's my king
That's my God
That's my shepherd
My protector
That's my king
That's my rock
That's my anchor
My defender
That's my king
That's my God
That's my shepherd
My protector
That's my king
That's my rock
That's my anchor
My defender
Who we talkin' about?
That's my king
We declare the glory, yeah
Give him all the honor
Altogether worthy
Who we talkin' about?
That's my king
(We declare the glory) yeah
Give him all the honor
Altogether worthy
Who we talkin' about?
That's my king
There's no one before you, hey
Yes, we will adore you
(All of this is for you)
Who, who we talkin' about?
That's my king
Who we talkin' about?
That's my king
Who we talkin' about?
(That's my king)
Who we talkin' about?
(That's my king)
Who we talkin' about?
(That's my king)
(Who we talkin' about?)
(That's my king) king of king
(Who we talkin' about?)
(That's my king) king forever
(Who we talkin' about?)
(That's my king)
(Who we talkin' about?)
(That's my king)
Yeah, yeah, yeah
