Love Must Be Executed

While watching the playoffs this weekend, a photo of the rookies from the 2018 draft.  Some of the players included that photo are: Saquon Barkley, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, and Roquan Smith to name a few.

256 players were drafted that year.

Six years later, more than 80% are out of the NFL.  This includes the Vikings 2018 first round pick.

The players were selected on their potential. They are not playing now because they could not execute the potential.

On this day where we commemorate Dr Martin Luther King, Jr whose life was a model of love action said, "Love those who do not love you in this country."

Which is consistent with . . .

Luke 6:27

"But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.

Hate is a loser.  

Love is a winner.

Both are verbs, that is they do something.

Love requires action.

John 14:15
If you love me, keep my commandments.

John 21:17-18

17 A third time he asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”

Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.”

Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep.

Love is more than about yourself.  Love is about execution, that is, something good performed for others.  There is no potential with love.  Good wants action.  Just do it.

You do not want to be out of game for not realizing your love.

1 Corinthians 13:1

If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

This day, this hour, some may be aphrensive about the future. Aprehension could cause fear, and hate. That's not how we roll.  Just ask MLK Jr.

Execute a little love in your life.

Hanging with My Axe'd Freely You Have Received, Freely Give Many economists are predicting a recession is in the making.  Quick lesson, a recession is defined as two straight quarters of negative value of goods and services produced in the USA (GDP, Gross Domestic Product). Other indicators like employment rates, business investment, and consumer spending also are considered.  A recession causes hardships for almost everyone, especially those whose income is below the Federal Poverty Level (for an individual, $967/month, and a couple, $1,450/month).  Good Son-Day - The Start of  Something New Ice Creameisters! Live Roses The day after Christmas, I got a call from a former co-worker I had connected with for about a year or so. I started the conversation by asking about her grandchild and two daughters. I proceeded to ask her how her husband was doing and got an unexpected quick but poignant answer: "Oh, he's doing fine; we're getting a divorce."  Wait, what! This couple was married for 30-plus years.  The husband is retired. Nice home in the burbs,  Both children are college grads.  Empty nesters. The American Dream. What happened?
