Mission Indelible: Mark Someone
When you think of Christ in your life, I am sure you can identify many times when your association with Him has profoundly influenced who you are, what you do, how you behave, how you feel, how you relate, et cetera. All these experiences have clearly changed who you are for the better, even when you are going through.
Ezekiel 36:26
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”
Choosing Christ as your foundation, your guidance, your joy, your inspiration gives you a significant advantage in life. The advantage is overflowing, effervescent (i.e. sparkling and bubbling over like refreshing root poured into a tall frosty glass).
Christ said this, "I came that you may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the fullest, till it overflows). John 10:10.
We sing songs that include lyrics like, "He's more than enough". The Lyrics are accurate. But do not be a hoarder. You are given an abundance to be impactful on someone else's life.
Luke 12:48
God has been generous with you, He expects you to serve him well. But if He has been more than generous, He will expect you to serve Him even better.
Christ was a servant to us. To serve Him, you must serve others.
Ephesians 2:10
It is God who has worked in us to make us what we are. He has given us a new life because we are united with Christ Jesus. He saved us so that now we can do good things in our lives. Those are good things that he has already prepared for us to do.
I want you to do a self-assessment now. As a part of your review, your impact on someone else's life must be indelible, meaning it leaves a mark on someone that is undeniable, easily identified, and lasting.
If you are having difficulty with this task, learn to become more generous in your work with others as prescribed in the scriptures above. Look for opportunities to be an overabundant blessing to someone.
Song of the Week - Hallelujah! Sing a New Song to GOD. Sing HIS praise in the assembly of godly people. Psalm 149:1.
"Heaven", 1996, Bebe & CeCe Winans
The video definitely has a 1990's look, but the song and lyrics are ageless and still inspire me 29 years later.
Lyrics
There's no more use for guns and war
Cost me a lifetime
Just to gain this life's reward
They say streets of gold
Can you imagine somewhere
Where life will never end
No one ever grows old
Oh, my brother please
Come with me
It's what I live for
A place where love will never cease
Willing to die for
Heaven is where I want to be
There are instructions
We must follow to a tee
In order to reach there
And there is where I've got to be
They say streets of gold
(Can you imagine?)
Can you imagine somewhere
Where life will never end?
No one ever grows old
Oh, my brother please come with me
It's what I live for
A place where love will never cease
Willing to die for
Heaven is where I want to be
It's what I live for
A place where love will never cease
Willing to die for
Heaven is where I want to be
No more nights
There is a place
Where there'll be no more crying
And He is the light
Counting the days
When we meet in that place
(Willing to die for)
Think heaven
(Willing-, willing to die for)
It's what I (It's what I live for)
What I live, what I live, oh, every day of my life
Willing to die for
(Said Heaven is where, Heaven is where I wanna be at someday)
It's what I live for
Don't you wanna go? (Yes, I wanna go)
(Do you wanna go?) (I wanna go)
Willing to die for, oh
It's what I live for
(Say Heaven, say Heaven, say Heaven)
Willing to die for
(Oh, where I can lay my life down and die for)
It's what I live for
(I believe in Heaven, no more crying)
Willing to die for (that's what they told me)
(And I believe)
It's what I live for
(Oh, yeah)
Willing to die for
(Willing to die)
