Who Will Run Through a Brick Wall Because of You?

Who Will Run Through a Brick Wall Because of You?

Today's message centers on how God endowed you with incredible blessings.  Blessings that are overflowing.  Life that is abundant.

You my dear are rich in His Bosom.
John 13:23 - Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

A little clarity so this does not go sideways.  Christ was in the bosom of His Father.
John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

The meaning of this term is there is a deep connectedness, a close relationship, a strong bond between the parties.

A part of that kind of relationship is an imparting from God His best to His friend.

In the scripture above, John was the disciple.  John was undeniably blessed and rich no matter how you define it.

He did not hoard what he received from Christ. He authored a gospel and three epistles.  John was committed to Christ.  Theologians say John was arrested in Ephesus (now Turkey) and faced martyrdom when his enemies threw him in a huge basin of boiling oil. However, according to tradition, John was miraculously delivered from death.

The authorities then sentenced John to slave labor in the Greek island mines of Patmos. On this island, John had a vision of Jesus Christ and wrote the prophetic book of Revelation. John was later freed, possibly due to old age, and he returned to what is now Turkey. He died as an old man sometime after AD 98, the only apostle to die peacefully.

John's total submissiveness to Christ did not die on the vine.  His dedication inspires us today to live close to Christ and run through a brick for Him.

Another reminder that you are affluent in the wealth of God.  You are required to use your affluence (wealth) to influence others.

Luke 12:48 - For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

The Apostle Paul was quick to influence others and did it with a little bravado.

  • Philippians 3:17 - Brothers, join together in imitating me and learn from those who follow our example.
  • 1 Corinthians 11:1 imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.

Jesus encourages you to influence

Matthew 5:16 - Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

You are faithful in your walk with Christ and are obedient to what He asks of you.  You are resilient in anything in that comes your way because you rely on the strength of His might.

Exodus 15:2-4 - The Lord is my strength and my song, and HE has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise HIM, my father's God, and I will exalt HIM. The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is HIS name. “Pharaoh's chariots and his host He cast into the sea, and Pharaoh's chosen officers were sunk in the Red Sea.

Take a moment to think about your influence.  Has your impact on someone influenced them to go through a brick wall for Christ?  Are they as passionate about Christ as you are?  This is what Christ is asking us to do?  Does someone see your good works and want to imitate it?  Does someone see you in the midst of a trial and say I want to endure with blessed might like you?

I know you will go through a brick wall for Christ.  Bring someone along for the passionate charge.

Lyrics

"One Hallelujah"

We all have different stories
But only one name gets the glory
When it's all said and done
There's only One
We've all come from different places
But only one name gets the praises
When it's all said and done
There's only One
One Lord
One God
One Faith
Only one name deserves our praises
One Church
One voice we raise
One Hallelujah
Hallelujah
(Everybody say)
Hallelujah
We join with every nation
Lifting up one song in celebration
When it's all said and done
There's only One
We're all here for one purpose
To adore Him and bring him worship
When it's all said and done
There's only One
One Lord
One God
One Faith
Only one name deserves our praises
One Church
One voice we raise
One Hallelujah
One Lord
One God
One Faith
Only one name deserves our praises
One Church
One voice we raise
One Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Every nation, every tongue
Hallelujah
Every daughter, every son
Hallelujah
Let a million hallelujahs
Start with this one
Everything that's within me
Praise the Lord
Every nation, every tongue
Hallelujah
Every daughter, every son
Hallelujah
Let a million hallelujahs
Start with this one
Everything that's within me
Praise the Lord
Every nation, every tongue
Hallelujah
Every daughter, every son
Hallelujah
Let a million hallelujahs
Start with this one
Everything that's within me
Praise the Lord...
Praise the Lord...
Hallelujah...
