Your Mother Surpasses Them All!

Happy Son-Day and Happy Mothers' Day

Your Mother Surpasses Them All!

Isaiah 66:13 As a mother comforts her child, I will comfort you.

I must confess my sin.  I am jealous of the love, adoration, care, and attention mothers get on their day.  Not because they're undeserving and lavished with gifts and pampering all day.  It's because Father's Day is not the same.

And it should not be.  Other than the gender, there is a stark difference in the love a mother gives a child as opposed to what father gives.  Viva la difference.

Notice in the opening scripture above the prophet Isaiah did not reference a comforting father.  I am not saying a man cannot provide comfort, but we have to work at.   Sadly, the people we are trying to comfort can tell our effort is not as organic as from a mother.

A mother's comfort is welcomed warmth that soothes to the bone.  All the pain and stiffness from the cold harsh reality melts away.  For the moments you are in her embrace there is a palm tree oasis where you can find break.  She does not care how you come to her, broken or brave, she will shield from any hardship and lift you up.

A mother is to be cherished and honored.  Her adult offspring must ensure her needs are addressed.

Exodus 20:12. "Honor your father and your mother so that your life will be long on the fertile land that the Lord your God is giving you."

Proverbs 31:28 Her children stand and bless her.  Her husband praises her: 29 “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!”

Take care of Mom-----Thus sayest the Lord
1 Timothy 5:8 “Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”

James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

Psalm 71:9 “Do not cast me off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent.”

Give your mother a great dose of joy
3 John 1:4  “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”

Woke Up This Morning Lyrics

Chorus: Nathan Davis Jr
I woke up this morning, I got up and prayed
Thankin' the Lord for another good day
I kept it simple, no need to explain (Yeah)
The devil thought he had me, I got away (Yeah)
Don't it feel good when you've been in His presence? (Yeah)
Walkin' with Him, ain't no second guessin' (Yeah)
Some call it luck, but I call it a blessing (Yeah)
He give me peace, ain't no need to be stressin'
He never gave up on me
His promises He'll always keep
He paid the price just for mе

[Verse: Forrest Frank]
Mmm, yeah
Paid the price just for mе (Uh)
Broke chains set me free (Uh)
I was blind, but now I see (Uh)
That He opened up the sea
Just so I could walk through that with my family
I know some people, they aren't understanding me
But that's okay that's why I'm out here planting seeds
Hopin' that one day, they'll see the whole planet be

[Pre-Chorus: Forrest Frank]
Kneeling before You
Lord we adore You
There's no one after
And none before You
I'm so thankful
