"My Father is always working , So Am I"
Words for Self-healing when your are alone
I'm back after the Memorial Day weekend to do some serious spring cleaning in our backyard.  I made six trips to the Maple Grove yard waste facility.  I even had to rent a Menards pickup truck.

The aftermath of all this was that I was sore all over.  Hauling tree limbs for two days wears on your body.  There were muscles 💪 that had not been used for a while, and some that were not meant to be in play.  The soreness experienced from intense labor or exercise comes from microscopic tears in muscle fibers.  In response to the muscle damage, the body sends blood to the area to clear out damaged tissue and initiates tissue repair, aka inflammation.

I try not to use pain relievers (e.g., ibuprofen) because at this stage of my life, they are not a particularly good thing for my kidneys.  Some friendlier pain solutions like bananas (potassium), salmon, spinach, kale, nuts, or berries, which all have anti-inflammatory properties.

I also stay away from foods that block the healing process, such as red meat, luncheon meat, bacon, sugary foods, fried foods, white bread, white rice, pastries, granola bars, fruit juices w/o pulp, and potato chips.

Additionally, heat or cold presses also help.

I am still working on the subject of taking care of yourself.  In the example I noted above are a few tips on taking care of a wounded physical body.  You might ask about holistic self-healing tips for a wounded spirit?

We start with a Word from God.  Our life book or "the Bible", which literally means "the Books" in Greek.   It has the same kind of meaning and power as "I am that I am" phrase ( Exodus 3:14, to be covered another day).  The Bible has genuine words from God spoken through His prophets.

This is where you have to do like one of those gospel songs and hold on to your faith.

For those of you who are hurting right now and need whole body, mind, and soul healing, the Bible says this in Psalms...
  • Psalm 34:18 The LORD is near to the brokenhearted.
  • Psalm 147:3 GOD heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds [healing their pain and comforting their sorrow].

Christ invites those who are weary to come to Him.
Matthew 11:28-30
28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

A wounded heart comes with a host of negative emotions that incapacitate your thinking and physical body.    This passage encourages you to take this ailment to God.
1 Peter 5:7
Cast all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].

The recovery foundation scriptures above require you to release and trust that God will be salve who will promote healing in your body, mind, and soul.  The natural reflex will be to hold on to the pain.  No, let the passages feed into your spirit and let the Holy Spirit work on your behalf.  He is doing it even at this very moment.

John 5:17
Jesus replied, “My Father is always working, and so am I.”

Song of the Week - Hallelujah! Sing a New Song to GOD. Sing HIS praise in the assembly of godly people. Psalm 149:1.

"He'll Be There", 2025, David Bratton featuring Maurette Brown Clark

For many of us, a timely song.

Lyrics
He'll be there
He'll be there
He'll be there
God will be there
God will be there

He is there through the storm clouds
He is there when you hurt
And even when you feels there's now way through

My God will supply, all that you need
If you trust, trust in faith and believe

He'll be there
He'll be there
God will be there
God will be there

In Him there's no failure
He's my hope and He's my peace
And He is my joy in times of storm

And where would I be, if it wasn't for Your Grace
And by His stripes, by His stripes, we are healed

He'll be there
He'll be there
He'll be there
God will be there

Oh, oh, oh oh oh God will take care

He's there, He's there
He's there, He's there
He's there, He's there

God will take care
God will take care
God will take care of you
