Just Leave It Alone and Mind YOUR Business
The holiday weekend last week was very hectic. Jo and I did some fishing, three Minnesota Lynx games, traveling, and twice to the Taste of Minnesota. I am back this weekend with another adventure and more Good News about our Blessed Friend.
In two weeks, Jo and I will be celebrating 45 years of marital bliss. A few people have asked me how we achieved this landmark anniversary. I tell them this is accomplished by not changing a thing.
Meaning, I do not try to change my spouse. I knew who she was before I married her. My eyes were wide open. I love her for who she is. All the good and otherwise.
Romans 15:7 Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
A quickly worded verse, but one of the hardest acts to perform in any relationship. We often want others to conform to our likeness and preferences. You all know people who are controlling. It is an unappealing characteristic.
To have any kind of lasting and happy relationship, accept and love as Christ.
Start by loving yourself. Focus on your own actions and transformation.
Matthew 7:1-5“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. 2 For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.3 “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? 4 How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First, get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.
You do the above, and you will find you do not have time to be changing someone else when you are a summer construction project. Let God change your loved one into His image and not yours. You will be glad He did.
Song of the Week -
Hallelujah! Sing a New Song to GOD. Sing HIS praise in the assembly of godly people. Psalm 149:1.
"I Need Jesus", 2025, Mayor Boss.
Short and to the point and quite powerful.
Lyrics - Literally
I need Jesus!
