Load Bearing Beam - A Word to the Weary (Family Leaders)
Who you are; a . . .
Load Bearing Beam:
A load-bearing beam is a structural element in a building or structure that supports weight from above and transfers it down to the foundation or other supporting elements. These beams are essential for maintaining the integrity and stability of a structure.
Key Characteristics:
- Supports vertical loads from floors, roofs, or walls above it.
- Transfers weight to columns, walls, or the foundation.
- Cannot be removed or altered without proper structural support or reinforcement.
The role of a family leader is honorable, rewarding, invigorating, and at times exhausting. This role spans many areas: financial, emotional, spiritual, advisory, parental, and even community leadership. It carries immense responsibility and pressure.
But Scripture offers both encouragement and guidance for those navigating this sacred role.
I’m not here to offer a message about removing the load or making it lighter. From the very beginning, God gave us the task of taking care of business:
Genesis 2:15
“The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.”
Your family is your Garden of Eden. You are called to tend it.
We are created in God’s image and to be clear, He works. It’s in His nature. When we work, we reflect His character.
John 5:17“My Father is always at His work to this very day, and I too am working.”
Galatians 6:9“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Proverbs 10:4Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.2 Thessalonians 3:10The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.1 Timothy 5:8Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
- God first,
- Family second,
- Church third,
- Work fourth,
- Education fifth.
Psalm 127:1Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
Psalm 23:1 (NIV)“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.”
Matthew 11:28“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
