What a hot mess of people. It’s a wonder anything was achieved in biblical times with all the flawed individuals listed above. Yet, these same people played a significant role in shaping the core of who we are as believers today.
Most past historians do not recount the faults of their leaders. Instead they try to portray them as near perfect. The Bible does not. The Bible is honest and true. This is a testament about how accurate and honest God is.
Why did God use flawed people? Well, one logical answer is that is all He has to work with. Nobody is perfect.
Due to Adam’s original sin, God knows we are predisposed to character flaws. It is our nature.
However, He is a loving and forgiving God. He so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17.
God uses flawed people. Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 12:9 that God worked through his weak areas. Christ told Paul, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” Paul tells his audience, “So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me”, 2 Corinthians 12:9
The Bible admonishes us to get past flaws and work with people and not condemn them anymore than God does.
Galatians 6:1-3
Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.
Humility and love are the key factors in aiding us to not be dismissive of flawed, imperfect people. We must have compassion, love and show undeserved favor to people like our maker.
Psalm 145:7-9
Everyone will share the story of Your wonderful goodness;
they will sing with joy about your righteousness.
The Lord is merciful and compassionate,
slow to get angry and filled with Unfailing Love.
The Lord is good to everyone.
He showers compassion on all His creation.
The amazing thing about Love is it can get us past a person’s faults.
1 Peter 4:8
Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.
One last directive from God about dealing with flawed people.
Romans 12:18
Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.

Good vocals. This piece is reminiscent of a Billie Holiday song.
