Conditioning through Weight Lifting
An Anie-mazing Time
Conditioning through Weight Lifting
My emphasis during the Easter season was about . . . Love your neighbor as you love yourself (Matthew 22:39). For the Pentecost season, which runs through Sunday, June 8th, the focus will be on loving yourself. I have a saying about the well-being of others: "A healthy you translates to a healthy us."
If life's weights encumber us and impede our ability to love others effectively, as Christ directs us, we must shed those weights. Don't admire it. Don't wallow in it.
Hebrews 12:1 Let us lay aside every weight that hinders and the sin that so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
The directive is clear. We must be in good standing with ourselves.
God knows all of your issues . . . Psalm 56:8 God keeps a record of your sorrow and tears.
God also is here to bear your sorrows . . . Isaiah 53:4 Surely He took up our pain and bore our suffering.
God knows too well the impact of clinging weights even when you try to mask them. The facade fades.
Proverbs 14:13 Even in laughter, the heart may ache, and the rejoicing may end in grief.
Proverbs 15:13 A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.
Our God specializes in miracles, though. Check this out: Psalm 30:11 You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy.
My tip of the day to kick off this series is to do one thing when casting away these weights: trust God. Acknowledge Him. Our God is most trustworthy.
Hosea 6:3 - Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge Him. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”
Shoutin' time!
Song of the Week - Hallelujah! Sing a New Song to GOD. Sing HIS praise in the assembly of godly people. Psalm 149:1.

I like Word Songs when I am reflective, but there is a "wilding" David side of me who likes good old-fashioned high praise time. Go grab your tambourine now, you are fixing to shout.
