Accountable to Work Opportunities
A well known passage thrown at believers back in the day was that only faith saves you and it's not what you do. Additionally, we were told the right things we do are like filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6 But we are all like an unclean thing, And all of our good doing is like filthy rags). This allowed many believers to offer help in moments where it was needed, saying, 'Wow, sorry, I'll be praying for you.' God's got you!. I can appreciate the sentiment, but those words do ring hollow in tough times.
Yes, faith does save you, You do need to exercise it to sustain your walk with God. The Isaiah 64:6 scripture does not say Don't do good works. It is telling you, you need more than good works to walk with God.
Christ's brother, James, speaks to this in James 2:14-20
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?
At brunch this morning, my son regaled us with a story where he helped a dad move his stalled car out of traffic to a safe location. The car had passengers, the motorist's kids. The story brought a smile to my face to know he took the time to help someone in distress. He could have just passed the motorist. BJ was inconvenienced, but he will be blessed.
We must be on a constant vigil to help others. That is our Christ-like nature. It's also our greatest witness and testimony to believers and non-believers alike. The act of kindness has a profound impact on those on the receiving end. Make a difference this week!

Lyrics
No greater love to exist than the one who give His life for friend
No greater love to exist than the one who lives Beginning and ending
No greater love to exist
No greater love
No greater love
No greater love to exist
No greater love
No greater love
So pick it up pick it up (your cross)
Pick it up pick it up (though heavy)
Pick it up pick it up (it's time)
Pick it up pick it up (your cross) 2x
I know those burdens get heavy
Lay it all down if you're ready
Weighing you down like a levy
You go through the fire
You know He's in the fire too
Covered by the blook
Never knew love this way
A love like this
Love like this
Ain't no love love love (7 times)
No greater love to exist than the one who give His life for friend
No greater love to exist than the one who lives Beginning and ending
No greater love to exist
No greater love
No greater love
No greater love to exist
No greater love
No greater love
So pick it up pick it up (your cross)
Pick it up pick it up (though heavy)
Pick it up pick it up (it's time)
Pick it up pick it up (your cross) 2x
I know those burdens get heavy
Lay it all down if you're ready
Weighing you down like a levy
You go through the fire
You know He's in the fire too
