When Dance Becomes Cardio for the Soul
Good Son-Day!!!
Psalm 149:3
Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp.

When Dance Becomes Cardio for the Soul
I'm one of those husbands who sends his wife way too many funny reels. Basically, I'm her personal comedy algorithm, relentless and only occasionally appreciated.
Every so often, she hits me with the classic, "Alright, that's enough."
Does that stop me? Absolutely not. Because every so often, one of those reels actually lands, and honestly? That's all the fuel I need.
Lately, though, my feed has been serving up something even better than comedy: young folks rediscovering the pure, unfiltered joy of shout-praise dancing. And I am *here* for it.
Now, I grew up in the old-school church where the elders had rules. According to them, if you weren't fully "caught up in the Spirit," your feet had no business moving before the Lord. The problem? I've searched the Scriptures, and I cannot find a single verse that requires you to hit a certain spiritual altitude before you're cleared for takeoff.
What I do find is that God honors dancing when it's rooted in something real: celebration, gratitude, deliverance, worship. Sometimes it happened after a miracle, sometimes after a breakthrough. And sometimes simply because God is good, and joy has to go somewhere.
Dancing before the Lord is a physical amen. It's your whole body saying, "Lord, I see You. I feel You. I thank You."
And the Bible doesn't just allow it; it encourages it.
2 Samuel 6:14 — David danced before the Lord with all his might.
Translation: he didn't two-step politely. He went all in.
Luke 15:25 — The older son heard music and dancing.
Because when something truly worth celebrating happens, the soundtrack usually comes with movement.
The links below are a few of the reels I sent Josephine—our next generation discovering the joy of a good old-fashioned shout. These clips carry me through the week. I've caught myself getting a full Sunday morning praise break on a Wednesday at 2 PM, right between emails. No apologies.
People swear by calisthenics, yoga, and Pilates. And look, I respect the commitment. But a praise break will reset your *whole* spirit in ways a reformer machine simply cannot.
Move over, Electric Slide. Step aside, TikTok dances. The Power Praise doesn't require coordination, a gym membership, or a single choreographed count of eight. It's accessible to anyone with breath in their lungs and gratitude in their heart.
You don't need the right moves.
You just need joy.

Oooh, I have more, but shot on these first.
Hallelujah! Sing a New Song to GOD. Sing HIS praise in the assembly of godly people. Psalm 149:1.
